Paddle, Plant & Plunge!

Join as we kick off the new North Polar Bear season with our first plunge and an exciting Paddle & Plant event with CCE’s Back to the Bays. We’ll be planting 130,000 baby clams (!) at our Southold Stewardship Site at Cedar Beach. A free event. Bring family and friends!

NoFo Polar Bears Clam Paddle, Plant + PlungeSunday, 10/19 at SCMELC, 10am - 12pm

Paddle + Plant: 10-11am
Bring your own kayak or SUP (contact us in advance to reserve one of our kayaks); learn about hard clams from our Aquaculture Specialist, Kate Rossi-Snook, and then paddle down Cedar Beach Creek to plant baby clams in a designated sanctuary site that will help enhance the wild clam population in the creek.

Plunge: 11:15-12pm
Kick off the official Polar Plunge season at Cedar Beach County Park, across from CCE Marine's facility!

*While it may not yet be "polar" conditions, we ask that participants dress accordingly for the paddle and/or plunge
